Anybody reading this that wants to give me a list of rap albums that came out in a similar timespan and you consider to be better than Revival, let me know. This is some old white guy shit, which happens to be right in my wheelhouse.) I'm still taking it over most of the other hip hop albums that dropped in the last 6 months. ("So basically you're Rodney Dangerfield" - as if these kids know who Rodney Dangerfield is, and if they do, they have to know his catchphrase to understand the reference, because Em doesn't even allude to it. I really dig a lot of the switching up of cadences on this record, and I enjoy a lot of the weird-ass references on it. ('Offended' really comes to mind here) but I feel like the lyricism is there. There's just a ton of confusing choices on the beats, and a lot of hooks are corny af. I've defended it a lot on here, and I've basically concluded that it's not good as far as Eminem albums go, but it's far from trash, IMO. That whole album gives me goosebumps to this day. Just one of those things where it really resonated with where I was in life, and gave me a lot of motivation and understanding and answers, etc. For me, personally, it's a top 2 album ever, any artist. I've noticed that it catches a lot of shit on here, so I feel like I'm in the minority.
